What is Clinical Neuropsychology?

Clinical Neuropsychology is concerned with the assessment and treatment of the cognitive, emotional and behavioural consequences of damage or disease affecting the brain.

Neuropsychology is the branch of psychology that addresses the link between brain and behaviour.

A neuropsychological assessment is an objective way of quantifying and characterising the cognitive, behavioural and emotional consequences of the changes in brain function that can occur after damage or with disease affecting the brain.

In addition to assessment, clinical neuropsychologists are in an excellent position to inform, advise and offer treatment to help people understand and adapt to the changes that can result from brain damage.

Professor Bunnage is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience and appears on the British Psychological Society's Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. He is a Chartered Psychologist and HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist.
